We are dedicated to advocating for policies that empower students and ensure equity in education. Here are some of our most important campaigns:
We led the movement for 16 and 17-year-olds in Oakland to vote in school board elections, amplifying youth voices in official governance.
ACC mobilized students to protest closures that disproportionately affect Black and Brown communities, fighting for fair policies and representation.
We campaigned for safe drinking water, pushing OUSD to address lead contamination and prioritize student health in all facilities.
ACC annually prioritizes issues that directly impact students across Oakland. The process includes input from students in schools, community leaders, and ongoing research into the needs of the district.
Once priorities are chosen, ACC engages in active advocacy, from organizing rallies to holding meetings with decision-makers, ensuring that student concerns are heard and addressed.
